You need to fill out the registration form and submit a $300 NON-REFUNDABLE Deposit to reserve your required date. You will need to send in the 50% of the BALANCE 90 days & final BALANCE 45 DAYS PRIOR to your retreat weekend. Your check or other payment MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE the 90 & 45 days prior. All payments are Non-refundable.
Why do you charge more after 14 people?
To keep from raising our rates for the WHOLE place rental, we wanted to provide you with Options. We realize that the average size group is about 12 to 14 people. To keep up with those of you that have larger groups, we have decided that to help with the additional costs of running the inn for more people, we need to charge $65.00 each additional person and or bed used from 15-18 guests. This is a nominal charge and just offsets our costs. For 19-22 the Granny flat will be required at a flat rate of $250.00 additional cost.
We are happy to offer the inn to groups up to 22 people now.
Is there Internet access?
Yes there is, we have a unlimited amount of internet available, BUT due to the remote location it is NOT always guaranteed. To make internet available for all scrappers (web browsing and Digital scrappers) The following is NOT encouraged:
STREAMING - Will just slow the Internet down or cause it to shut down till the load is reduced by users
NO DROPBOX - If you need to access your pictures from this process, please download them to a file on your computer so it is a managable size. What happens with DROPBOX, is that if you open your pictures and unbeknownst to you it is in a large file, the whole dropbox gets downloaded at once and will use up our monthly allotment in minutes. I am sure you understand that this isn't a good thing. So please organize your photos BEFORE you arrive.
With these limits in place, you might be able to browse the internet as you like and also do some Digital Scrapping.
But again, as our location is so remote we have no control over how much internet is being used by whom and when... the evenings are peak hours so access is usually very limited if even possible. Therefore we can't guarantee the use of internet.
We encourage you to use your personal data or your hot spots as we can not promise how fast or slow the internt maybe. So plan accordingly. Remember each guests usually has 2-4 personal devices, if you've been to the Inn you will connect automatically, so turn OFF any & ALL devices NOT being used so others can have access.
Are there scheduled events?
No. Flexibility is our middle name. Eat when you want. Scrap all night long, and sleep the day away if you would like.
Does San Diego Scrap Inn have supplies on hand for scrapbookers?
We are excited t announce we have an on site store! Lizzy Loo Creations carries all the newest lines and products! Located in our closet room and is available by appointment.
We have a supply of Close To My Heart products available for purchase for those groups that choose to access it. For hostesses that prefer to sell their own product, we do not announce it available to her guests. For those who prefer a larger selection, there are several scrapbooking stores within a 30-minute radius.
We also have a lot of Ink pads, markers, rubber stamps, punches etc that our guests can borrow -just check out our tool room!
Can I come by myself, or do I have to be with a group?
We can only rent the house as a complete rental, but if you are by yourself or just a small group, and can't afford the whole place rental, please sign up for one of our Open Retreat Weekend!
Can I crop for just the day?
We can sometimes allow day croppers to come during the week or on weekends when the house is not rented. Contact us, and we will try to accommodate you.
Do I have to share a bedroom?
Well, there are muliple beds in each room, check out our accommodations page for a look. So to answer your question ... yes, but each guest has her own bed, and if you decide to stay up all night scrapbooking, then you can sleep all day instead, and then you could have the room to yourself :) With 22 twin beds in five bedrooms (and a giant closet!), we believe there is a comfortable room for everyone's tastes.
For our Hosted Open Retreat Weekend we try to just put your group in your own bedrooms and sit you together.
I am from out of state and need to fly to San Diego Scrap Inn. How do I get there and do you provide transportation?
Due to insurance regulations, we can not provide transportation. However, we can definitely provide travel help and directions to make your experience more enjoyable.
What is the largest group you can take?
We currently have beds for 22 in five bedrooms (and a large closet!). There are 22 6-foot tables that fit comfortably in the cropping area. There is now extra cropping area in the dining room, perhaps for day croppers. Or, the tables can be used for dining, make-n-takes, or product displays. Please note there is a $65 person charge for groups greater than 14-18
What are the Check-in and Check-out times?
The check in time is 10:00am on Thursday/Friday or later. The check-out time is Sunday at 4:00pm, promptly! For mid-week retreats, the check-in time on Monday is 4:00PM, and check-out is Noon on Wednesday or Thursday depending on events
Do you accommodate other hobbies as well?
Absolutely! We are geared toward the cropping crowd, but can accommodate other crafters as well, and quilters and sewers- just contact us directly for most appropriate set up.
Do we have to clean when we leave?
San Diego Scrap Inn does the cleaning for you. We do ask that upon check-out you strip the linens off your bed, complete one load of laundry per 1-14 ladies; 2 complete loads for 15-18 & complete 3 loads for 18-22 ladies. Load, run & put away ALL the dishes and gather the garbage from the house and take the trash out to the street. There is a check out sheet upon arrival so please see it for detailed directions & additional check out procedures. And it MUST be checked off, signed & dated... and left on the kitchen counter for our review.
When you arrive everything has been cleaned and sanitized and all in order for you so please help so by attending to your areas. Thank you!
Why can't I find your address listed anywhere on the website?
We are trying to protect the privacy of our guests. We specifically do not put our physical address out there, because we don't want people just dropping in to check it out when we have guests. We can tell you it is 7 minutes off I-15 in Fallbrook, and if you would be interested in coming by to see the house, we would love to show it to you. Just send us an email or give us a call to set up an appointment. Also, we promise you will be given the address and full directions about a week before you check in.
Do you provide Drinks and snacks?
No we don't. Starting 2018 so as to not raise prices we have stopped supplying drinks and snacks.
Is the Granny Flat open to groups less that 15 people?
NO, The Granny Flat is only available to larger groups, 19 guests or more. If you have 14 or less, the Granny Flat is NOT available to you. We will charge an extra $250.00 if you use it. If you wish to pay the $250.00 fee you then must pay ahead of time and you can use it.
If you have 15-18 guests there is an additional $65.00 per person.

Check out procedures are mandatory. Please complete the items on the check out procedures list- there will be one on the kitchen counter top when you arrive. It must be signed, checked off, dated and left on the kitchen counter. All hostesses are responsible for the check out procedures in order to receive their refund.
At least one load of laundry not completed: $50.00 charge
Trash bins not taken out to the street: $150.00 charge
Leaving either of the two thermostats on: $250.00 charge
Leaving any doors unlocked: $250.00 charge
Leaving any windows open: $250.00 charge
Leaving dishes in the dishwasher and/or on the counter: $50.00 charge
Any furniture moved and not returned to original location: $50.00 charge
Beds moved will be -per bed: $100.00 charge
Clogging/over flowing toliets where a plumber needs to be called: $150.00 charge
Leaving excess food in the refrigerator that your group brought in and not taken: $50.00 charge
Check out is Sunday at 4:00pm. Any overage time beyond 4:00pm will be charged $25.00 per 15-minute intervals.
